Places to Visit
If you are new to Thailand, chances are you don’t really know where to go. While there are several important cities and regions, we would like to focus your attention on several:
Koh Samui – a small island for tourists with lots of luxurious villas for rent and amazing resorts. Multiple golf courses and several malls make this island exquisitely suitable for tourism.
Bangkok. The capital of this country attracts visitors from all over the world with its night markets and energetic life rhythm in general. Lots of great street food.
Isan is a mostly agricultural and industrial center where traditions and religion are not affected by tourism. If you want to spend some time in a quiet place, head to this region.

The vast majority of tourists prefer to go to the seaside, but many stay inland. You can certainly find a lot of great entertainments without even getting close to the ocean shore. Thailand is famous as a destination for sex tourism. Prostitution is actually an important part of the national budget meaning that there are special requirements for se workers and lots of exotic entertainments for those who seek something exotic.
At the same time, this is a very traditional place with dozens of ancient temples situated all over the country. In every single settlement some Buddhist attribute or a holy place can be found. If you are looking for a spiritual adventure, you will also be satisfied with options presented to you in this country.
When to Visit
Songkran is the best time to come here and jump right into water fights that are happening everywhere. Thai people love this time of the year (in the middle of April). This is Thai New Year celebration and also the hottest period. Youth and adults participate in massive water battles that happen everywhere. Only shopping malls and hotel territories can serve as shelter during festivities.
If you walk out during this time, you are guaranteed to be greeted with a splash of water in your face. This is a great holiday and people love to party outside. Bringing waterproof wallets is highly recommended.
